The 220gr Ballistic Tip Round Nose is designed specifically for subsonic use with a suppressor in the 300 BLK cartridge. The challenge with subsonic loads in a 300 BLK is that most 30 cal bullets are designed for cartridges with much faster impact velocities than subsonic velocity. The majority of 30 cal hunting bullets are too tough to reliably expand at impact velocities below 1600fps not to mention 1020fps. This problem is solved by the Ballistic Tip 220gr RN subsonic bullet. Designed to expand at subsonic velocity, this bullet provides an excellent hunting bullet for the 300 BLK cartridge, exhibiting consistent accuracy and rapid expansion when fired at subsonic velocity from suppressed or unsuppressed firearms.
Note: Not designed or recommended for use at supersonic velocity in cartridges other than the 300 BLK. While it will work, expansion will be dramatic and excessive.
