This position as a CNC Operator begins status as “Introductory Trainee” for 60 consecutive days during which time Supervisory staff will evaluate whether the employee is suited for the position. If the employee is determined to be suitable for the job, status will then advance to “Regular Employee” on the first of the month following the 60 day introductory period and Company benefits will commence (Refer to Benefit Summary sheet inside application).
Assignment could be on first, second, or third shift. PLEASE NOTE: If you are not available to be assigned to any shift, you will not be considered for this position. A 10% differential pay applies to assignment on 2nd shift and 20% differential applies to assignment on 3rd shift. Hourly rate is D.O.E.
Additionally, the successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. Nosler Inc is a federally regulated company that requires employees to have a clean background check and the ability to pass a drug screen including THC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Production machining of firearms components
- Sawing material to size
- De-burring parts
- Measuring parts
- Loading/unloading materials and parts CNC machine tools
- Detecting worn or broken tools, changing inserts and tools
- Presetting tooling
- Writing and modifying CNC programs using G and M code and/or CAM software
- Indicate surfaces, dial in items chucked in lathes, touch off surfaces and enter offset positions in CNC programs
- Participate in manufacturing optimization, assist in work holding development, suggest program optimization, and detect needed changes in feeds/speeds by ear, eye, and feel.
- Advanced blueprint reading is essential to being able to perform this job, as is keeping detailed notes regarding work performed.

Must be a high school graduate, at least 18 years of age, and possess good math skills; adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Additionally, must be able to write clearly and communicate with ease. Exceptional problem-solving skills and excellent eyesight with or without correction is required.
The successful candidate must be an experienced operator of CNC and manual machine tools, including lathes and mills. Additionally, excellent mechanical aptitude and the ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gage, bore gages, etc) are essential. Must understand and expertly apply standard machine shop practices to include drilling, reaming, boring, threading, facing, sawing, file work, etc. Must have experience holding exacting tolerances to .00005” and be capable of measuring to these tolerances.
Must be self-motivated, mature, and possess an excellent work ethic. Among other attributes, the employee will be evaluated on their ability to stay busy and be productive without constant direction.
This individual will be expected to have their own hand tools and be willing to get dirty. Job assignments may change depending on the needs of the company.
The successful candidate must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Completed an apprenticeship or trade school program in machine shop practices and/or have a minimum of five years of current hands on experience in this field.

Working conditions require great mobility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and to stand on concrete floors for long periods at a time. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move weights of 35 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move weights of 35 to 45 pounds. Also required to climb ladders, retrieve materials from storage, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
