Level 1 Engineer - Position Filled
This position is a progressive position starting with basic maintenance responsibilities. Upon demonstration of key skills and the passage of a minimum of one year, the eligible Level 1 Engineer(s) will be given priority consideration for future Engineering Department openings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment.
- Observes, troubleshoots, and repairs operating equipment; then test operates the equipment to ensure proper correction of the malfunction.
- Performs tooling changeovers and press start-ups of production equipment
- Operates a hone and speed lathe to hand fit tooling to exact tolerances
- Effectively communicate errors in drawings and suggestions for improvement of tooling, equipment, and processes.
- Sizes, polishes, and assembles tooling sets.
- Works with Engineering Department during R&D production runs and to implement improvements.
- Other duties as directed by company management.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a demonstrable working knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D Modeling Design software (such as Pro-E, SolidWorks, or Inventor); Project Management software; Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. The ability to effectively utilize a standard keyboard and mouse in working with the programs is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees are exposed to various substances used in the manufacturing of bullets. Appropriate PPE as specified in MSDS sheets is provided.
