This position begins as an “Introductory Trainee” for 60 consecutive days during which management will evaluate whether the employee is suited for the position. If the employee is determined to be suitable, status will then advance to "Regular Employee" on the first of the month following the 60-day introductory period and Company benefits will commence. Additionally, the successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

SUMMARY

The Production Machinist is tasked with machining tooling and components for production equipment, sawing material to size, deburring parts and operating tooling equipment associated with metal working. The Production Machinist will need to be familiar with operating and programing both manual and CNC equipment including lathes and mills. This position will also need to be familiar or have the ability to learn ID/OD grinding equipment. The Production Machinist will participate in manufacturing optimization and will have advanced blueprint reading skills. This position will need to be committed to maintaining a clean work environment. Teamwork focused mentality is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum education level: High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Some vocational training preferred or have completed an apprenticeship or trade school program in machine shop practices and/or have a minimum of five years of current hands on experience in this field

  • At least one year’s experience in the operation of CNC and manual machine tools, including lathes and mills

  • ID/OD grinding experience preferred or the have the ability to learn these skills through on the job training

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and the ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauge, bore gauges, etc.) required

  • Must understand and expertly apply standard machine shop practices to include drilling, reaming, boring, threading, facing, sawing, file work, etc.

  • Must have experience or the ability to hold exacting tolerances to .0005” and be capable of measuring to these tolerances

  • Possess strong math skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

  • Ability to, in a proficient and professional manner, read, write, speak and comprehend English

  • Excellent eyesight, with or without correction, required

  • Able to frequently walk and to stand on concrete floors for long periods at a time - occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl -  able to climb ladders, retrieve materials from storage, etc.

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move weights of 35 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move weights of 35 to 45 pounds

  • Self-motivated, mature, and possess an excellent work ethic

  • Ability to pass and maintain a clean drug and criminal background screening

COMPENSATION

$25.00 - $30.00/hour DOE (shift differential may also apply)

Hours

Monday – Friday: 1st shift 6:00am-2:30pm, 2nd shift 2:00pm-10:30pm
