Tillamook, OR – May, 2023 – Congratulations to Nosler’s Jared Bassett on his recent win at the Tillamook Burn 50k Trail Race. Held in the Oregon coastal range of the Tillamook State Forest, Jared faced a grueling 7,000 feet of vertical gain and loss on the challenging course. For those of you that know distance in terms of miles better than you do kilometers, 50k is just over 31 miles..... and if you've ever hunted the coast range of Oregon, you know just how nasty the terrain can be.
"I put in a solid training block coming out of the winter and felt prepared for the amount of climb the course presented. I made a conscious effort to try and go for the course record by going out the first 16 miles under record pace, but ultimately hit a wall on the last big climb of the race and suffered my way to the finish line" said Jared, but this hardship didn't stop him from finishing the race in first place and bringing home the win.
